The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has confirmed the detection of the box tree moth (BTM) near the border of Hamilton and Clermont counties.

Earlier today, September 2, 2021, the Ohio Department of Agriculture announced a population of the invasive Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) has been found on the east side of Cleveland. The information in this alert is from the announcement that ODA distributed today.
The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) was notified of the initial discovery by a tree care professional on August 26, 2021.

Susan Jones, OSU Dept. of Entomology, shows how to modify a portable vacuum cleaner to safely suck up and remove bed bugs from furniture or other areas of a room. This video also covers how to check for bed bugs "captured" in the stocking inserted in the vacuum wand. Proper disposal of any live bed bugs caught in the stocking is also shown.
